Stop barking. You so memalukan.

Man…

I have been in the event business for about 5 years and i m somehow ‘blessed’ that i had the opportunity to organise heaps of events over the years. Big to small, indoor to outdoor, dinners to sports days i have done it. One thing that alway surprised me is the element of HUMAN. Well, again i am lucky that my nature of job allows me to deal and meet people of all types, Bangla, Indon, Viets, Nepalese, black, white, fat, thin, engineers, accountants, PhD holders, managers, bigger managers, biggest managers, CEO, COO, Dato’s but for now no Tan Sri yet but one of our recent events was a really an eye opener for me. It was purely shocking. It made me realised how shitty one can be, how over competitive one can be, how sore when one lose can be.. it was purely shocking.

Games played on that day were played on some other events by lower level of people, they had great fun, their ego was not bruised.. yea they had loads of fun but some people who were there… felt otherwise.

To cut the story short…here are 2 scenes ..

Scene 1

I had men who are balding and father of teenage kids come storming at me shouting me — “Eh, you brainless ar, stupid ar, how can you all play such games? Safety issues tau ar? … blah blah ..  I was like so shocked that a man of such age and level in an MNC organisation behaved such..i wonder do they behave such in the office or they are just some shoe polisher who will say Yes Boss , Yes Boss and have their ball shrunk whenever their boss speak a word. To me such confrontation are so cheap and coward. Kan i heard there are courses or talk in work place called - Constructive Confrontation but what i saw on that day was Self Degrading Confrontation or some assholes barking aimlessly. Seriously, shame on you. Shame, shame, shame !

Scene 2

“Eh, how to see a route la.. so many ppl in the arena.. we all duno where to go you know? Eh do something la about it”  That was what a menopause-ing  soon lady complaining.

My solution was, stop the game, tell them to get behind the finish line. Simple and clear.

End result, the menopause-ing lady is one of the one running in and out of the arena. She looks over excited, macam anjing gila dilepaskan dari pagar.

Well, you complained about it but you are the culprit. Shame, shame, shame !

Tell me who is the problem?

Well..

Working in a big company, having the best degree, leading a team of people in your workplace does not mean much when you behave in such manner. You are a disgrace to yourself and to your company, from that event, the public have branded and labeled you negatively.

It was seriously a shocker when i found out that most people who barked aimlessly on that day are actually from the top management. I do understand the healthy aspect of being over competitive but when competitiveness turned into aggression and rudeness, it is so memalukan and to call yourself a manager or senior manager, that is like super memalukan.

A small group of people does not know the meaning RESPECT or respect is only practiced within your company and not beyond that? People like such should just stay home, turn on their Wii, PC or PS3 and play games refereed by computers.

If they cant listen and  do not respect decisions by referees and game masters, why should we have respect for you in the first place. I have no respect for people who has got no respect for themselves.

Some came storming after the final result was announced claiming that score was wrongly tabulated.. i heard a senior manager shouting — What is this ? Not right…THIS IS A TECHNICAL PROBLEM.. with his hand pointing at me macam mau lawan. Well in my heart, i was laughing away with your act of self embarrassment. Thank you for your ‘entertainment.’ 10 points for you for being a shameless person.

Lastly we were all glad that 95% or more had loads of fun, bringing home good memories. God was kind, giving us good weather, organising committee was cool, crew was superb like any other day and my sympathy goes to those sore losers who think winning is everything, fun is insignificant.

Kudos to those who had fun, good luck to those who did not.

Oh did i say the prize was only 1 rescue float and 2 mock foam surf board. It is not even a competition of RM200.

Hahaha. I had the last laugh.

Shame !!
